Soller Port Mallorca

I have been coming to Majorca since 1998 to photograph the north of the Majorca around Alcudia; I have always rent an apartment in either Porto Alcudia Alcudia or Porto Pollenca in the north of the Island. Both Ports Alcudia back onto the beautiful Playa de Muro beach. I can recall back in 2004 when the Alcudia had a complete power failure the restaurant cooked our dinner by candlelight; this included good fish and pasta meals. I have taken some outstanding landscape and travel photographs on the north of Majorca / Mallorca which included such locations as old Soller Town, Port de Soller, Port de Pollença, old Pollença town, Cala Sant Vicenç, Port d’Alcúdia, Ca’n Picafort and old Alcudia Town with its town wall dating back to the fourteenth century. One of my very early explorations in Western France in 1982 took me through northern Brittany and down the coast to La Rochelle, before I took the ferry to the island of Ile d’Oleron. This island offered a pleasurable culinary experience with oysters and exotic wines, before I moved south to Bordeaux and even further to the coast at Arcachon; a very lovely week spent exploring western France It’s time for a return visit to the coast of western France but this time photographing French cuisine, its culture, and places of interest for tourism. helsinki travel photography

My travel photography all started in Helsinki, Helsinki is the capital of Finland, it is a very compact city and easy to explore on foot but it still has 47 hotels. I arrived in November and weather was good but in December saw the worst winter in twenty years in Finland, unlike the UK nothing stopped, there was coach run by Finnair that went from the train station to the Airport, never failed to run. The camera that I had with me was a Nikon with a 55-300 zoom lens which was ideal for long photography across the harbour. Helsinki has two outstanding cathedrals, the Evangelical Lutheran cathedral to admire its stunning architecture in Senate Square and Uspenski Cathedral is the main cathedral of the Finnish Orthodox Church in the diocese of Helsinki, and is claimed to be the largest Orthodox church in Western Europe.
